WISP Directory Frequently Asked Questions
What is the "WISP Directory"?
The WISP Directory stands for "Worldwide Indie & Small Press Directory", which lists Christian Indie Fiction and Christian Fiction from small presses that are not covered in the monthly new release promotions elsewhere on Soul Inspirationz.
WHO IS THE WISP DIRECTORY FOR?
The WISP Directory is essentially for readers to discover good quality Christian fiction published either independently or with small presses. The Level Criteria within the directory helps the reader to determine whether a title is suitable for them to read or not, based on things such as previous reader reviews, author endorsements, and award nominations. It is also for authors of Indie and Small Press Christian fiction to be a platform to list their titles on.
WHY THE WISP DIRECTORY?
Outside of randomly finding Indie & Small Press Christian fiction by browsing online bookstores, via email promotions, and social media etc, there is room for a specialist directory suited to an audience who loves to read Christian fiction. Combined with reader reviews and the activity on the Soul Inspirationz Community Forum, readers of Christian fiction have another "go-to" place in the WISP Directory to search out and discover Indie and Small Press Christian fiction.
HOW DOES THE WISP DIRECTORY WORK?
Titles in the WISP Directory are categorised in two different ways. Firstly, by genre - in particular, Contemporary, Historical, or Speculative - and secondly, by Level Criteria.
The Level Criteria determines the quality of the title as determined by things such as reader reviews, author endorsements, and award nominations. As long as the title is deemed to be Christian fiction, it can be listed in the directory, starting at Level 1. However, the more reader reviews and other criteria a title has, the higher up the Levels it will climb. This criteria helps a reader determine if a title has been enjoyed by other readers.
However, a title sitting at Level 1 with no reviews doesn't necessarily mean it's poorly written - it just hasn't had sufficient positive reader feedback on it yet. At the same time, a title at Level 1 with many poor reviews isn't going to climb any higher - but it is still welcome to be listed in the directory.

WHEN ARE NEW ADDITIONS TO THE WISP DIRECTORY SHOWCASED?
New additions to the WISP Directory will be showcased at least once a month, if not more often, depending on the number of new listings being made. This won't be limited to new release titles either - any new listings will be showcased, no matter if the book is recently published or been around for a long time. There will be a main showcase on the Soul Inspirationz Blog, as well as genre-specific email newsletters going out to subscribers.
HOW CAN AN AUTHOR BECOME LISTED IN THE WISP DIRECTORY?
Submit your title information on the WISP Directory Title Submission page, and make your purchase option on the WISP Directory Listing Purchase page. Prices start at NZ$15.00 for a permanent listing, and decrease with ordering multiple listings. If you don't already have an Author Portfolio page on Soul Inspirationz // The Christian Fiction Site, there is a discounted option available for that as well. Titles are added in the order they are purchased; depending on demand please allow 1-7 days to see your title listed. New listings will also automatically be included in a promo blog post with social media coverage, and their relevant genre newsletter to email subscribers (Contemporary, Historical, or Speculative), at no extra cost.
