I’m a wife, mother of three, writer, friend, and woman seeking to know my God better every year, and express his love to the world any way I know how.
How did you become a novelist, and did you always want to write?
I always thought it’d be fun…but it also seemed like a far-off dream, you know? I dabbled with writing through college, and after college, when I was a ski bum, tried my hand at writing a romance. Long-story-short, it sold and did really well, opening up many doors to me in the years that came after.
What do you think is significant about Christian fiction?
I think it’s awesome to be able to incorporate faith as part of the plot or characterization…to not incorporate that, when it’s natural, seems like writing an incomplete character or story to me. Sometimes faith is big in my novels, and sometimes it’s very subtle—I try and be true to the characters.
First, I hope they’ll just be totally absorbed in a good story. And I love it when my stories makes them consider their own lives and choices and encourages them to be wise.
What responses to your novels have affected you the most and why?
By far, the emails that make me cry are when people say that reading my books opened their minds and hearts to God anew or taught them something they needed to know. I’m overwhelmed that God would use me and my work to woo others to him! But I also love letters from teens who say they never used to be readers and my novels changed that for them. I consider that a serious win too.
How has being a novelist impacted your relationship with Christ?
In delving deep with characters who struggle with one issue or another, it forces me to think about what I hold true and what impact faith has on that particular issue. So with every book, I think it helps me get closer to Him.
See every country in Europe. Hike many great trails. Gather friends and family often around the dinner table for good food and good conversation.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Hike, read, go to movies.
What can you tell us about your latest novels?
REMNANTS is a dystopian-fantasy-spiritual suspense trilogy about teens who were born with unique gifting to help turn a world gone very wrong back to the Way.
I’m thinking about more time travel. My River of Time tribe is very vocal about their love, and that fuels my creative fires.
What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand, and others worldwide?
I want to come see you. Huge LOTR fan. And to everyone else—I love that you read my books; the world seems like a smaller place because of you.
Do you have any parting words?
Love everyone you meet any possible way you can. Love conquers all kinds of evil.

Our coming was foretold by the elders--- Those who would change the future, just as the planet teetered on the edge of darkness.
Born on the prophesied day with birthmarks in the form of a crescent moon, they knew us immediately. Swaddled and screaming, we were spirited away by those who hid us, trained us, and kept us safe until our time came.
They poured their lives into us. Some died to save us.
And now we, the Remnants, protected by Knights of the Last Order, have gathered.
Called until we breathe our last ... to save the world.
